Durability
All models meet or exceed a 1000-hour salt spray test per ASTM B117 Standard Practice for Operating Salt Spray Testing Apparatus, to make sure they can withstand tough weather conditions.
The most advanced alternate refrigerant
These units contain the most advanced alternate refrigerant which contains no chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), or hydro-chlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), or other compounds that may leak from air conditioning systems and potentially harm the protective ozone layer of the Earth’s atmosphere.
Warranty
Units feature a 10-year conditional limited parts and 5-year compressor warranty, when registered and properly installed with a new Rheem air handler or Rheem indoor coil with a Rheem gas furnace. See product warranty card for additional information. (Registration Required)

Cabinet and Design
Attractive, louvered wrap-around jacket protects the coil from yard hazards and weather extremes. Top grille is steel reinforced for extra strength. Cabinet is powder painted for all weather protection. The units are constructed with painted galvanized steel cabinets for added reliability and durability. All controls are accessible by removing one service panel. Removable top grille provides access to the condenser fan motor and condenser coil for easier accessibility and serviceability. Combination Grille/Motor Mount secures the motor to the underside of the discharge grille. The grille protects the motor windings and bearings from rain and snow.
Low Profile
The industries lowest profile design at just 33 inch [864mm] maximum height makes the unit less noticeable in your yard and is easily installed leaving room for optional equipment and optimal access for maintenance.

Prestige Series: 2-Stage Communicating Motor
These units offer comfort, energy conservation, and dependability for single, multi-family and light commercial applications.
The Rheem RHPL air-handler, equipped with auxiliary heating elements for supplementary heat was designed especially for use with the Prestige Series™ heat pump. Together they deliver 3 stages of heat and 2 stages of cooling for precise temperature control and optimal energy efficiency.
Features
The Comfort Control2 System™
- Provides over 37 on-board diagnostics and fault history codes for condensing units by detecting system and electrical problems.
- Active Protection™ prevents compressor operation when potentially harmful conditions are detected.
- Sends “Call for Service” alert notification to the thermostat to alert you of required service.
Serial Communication Enhanced
When installed with a Serial Communicating Air Handler and user interface control Series 500 thermostat this unit offers auto-configuration, diagnostic messaging, and full communicating capability, to increase your home comfort even further.
Legacy Enabled
Unit can be conventionally wired using 24VAC with non-communicating Rheem Prestige air-handlers or furnaces with non-communicating thermostat. If you prefer to keep your old thermostat, in most cases, this heat pump will allow you to do so.
Operation
A compressor sound blanket is standard to provide your unit with quieter unit operation. Units are equipped with a reliable Two-Stage compressor for precise temperature control with an On-Demand dehumidification feature. When matched with variable speed gas furnace or air-handler, the system adjusts airflow to help control humidity for unsurpassed comfort in the cooling mode.
Prestige Series: Single and 2-Stage
These units offer comfort, energy conservation and dependability for single, multi-family and light commercial applications.
The Rheem RPRL-JEZ matched with the RHPL air-handler, equipped with auxiliary heating elements for supplementary heat was designed especially for use with the Prestige Series™ heat pump.
Together they provide systems capable of delivering a maximum HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) of 9.5 in the heating mode or a maximum standard S.E.E.R. (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) of 17.0 in the cooling mode.

The Comfort Control System™
The Comfort Control System™ provides on-board diagnostics and fault history by detecting system and electrical problems. It can also communicate system fault information to enabled thermostats. The integrated diagnostics with Active Protection™ prevents compressor operation when potentially harmful conditions are detected.

Diagnostics comes installed in each Rheem Prestige Series™ model. The 7-Segment LED Display is exclusive only to Rheem products. The information-display quickly and accurately shows technicians the source of malfunctions, to reduce time required for a repair.

The Rheem Value Series™ 13/15PJL and 14PJM heat pumps are the result of an ongoing development program for improved efficiencies. With system efficiency as high as 15 SEER, these units continue a tradition of delivering high efficiency.
