8 Tips to Improve Your Indoor Air Quality
Did you know that humans spend about 90% of our time indoors? Humans breathe on average 3,000 gallons of air a day. What kind of air is entering your lungs? Do you or anyone in your household have asthma or allergies? Try these simple tips to help improve the air inside your home.
1. Dust your home regularly to prevent build up of allergens
2. Use a furnace filter that captures at least 85% of large airborne particles.
3. Wash bedding and vacuum carpets weekly to reduce dust build up
4. Remove air pollution by using ventilation fan in the kitchen and bathrooms.
5. Maintain indoor humidity at 30-50%
6. Use a radon kit to test your home for traces of the gas.
7. Install a carbon monoxide alarm and run frequent tests to ensure your home is free from pollutant.
8. Open windows to increase fresh air in your home whenever possible.
